This revised edition of the Parish Pay Manual presents NACPA’s insights gleaned from working with many dioceses to develop parish compensation guidelines. NACPA believes that the most fair and equitable parish compensation practices occur where diocesan-wide pay guidelines exist for positions in all parishes.
Such guidelines help parishes establish fair pay rates for their employees – fair to both the employees and the parishes because staff members doing similar work receive similar pay in parishes throughout the diocese. To that end, we encourage dioceses to use any and all of the material in this manual to develop pay guidelines for their parishes. The previous edition of this manual was created from systems set up in a few dioceses. Since then many dioceses have used the manual to create or revise their systems. Now, we have turned to the experience in those dioceses to revise this manual a second time. This give and take process has borne much fruit. We hope the process continues with dioceses new and old using the manual to create or update pay guidelines for their parishes.
The download will include the 2016 Revised Full Manual and the 2017_2018 Updated Pay Supplement. The 2017_2018 Updated Parish Pay Supplement can be purchased separately here.
